Project Curtain

The truth is... the house move in has kept me away from blogging for the past 3 weeks.  I am still tired actually... and the things to fix in the house do not seem to end.  But I am loving it -- putting things in order and beautifying the interior (with a very limited budget).

The latest accomplishment is completion of the window curtains.  Thanks to SM, Landmark and Market! Market!... their curtains are cheap and nice.  Gone are the days when you have to buy yards of textile, have it sewn by the seamstress and wait for a few more days.

See how the curtain project panned out.

Living Room.

Dining area.

My boy's room.  Took advantage of the Market! Market! sale.  Only Php280 per panel -- 50% off!

Family room.  From Market! Market!

Bedroom 3.  Market! Market! curtain still.

Stairway.

Master Bedroom.  Notice the white curtain with green trimmings.  Nice find in SM for only Php399 each panel.

Next project... wall decorations!

Cagayan De Oro is Love.

What better way to experience Mindanao for the first time than to visit Cagayan de Oro!

My parents, months ago, proposed a family vacation in CDO.  While I did have some reservations because that would mean flying the plane again... hubby and I saw the need for a vacation far away from the city.  So, off we went to CDO during the August long weekend.

My boy waiting for our flight.  He developed a love for planes (thank God!).  He told me that he now wants to be an Airplane Engineer.

Just arrived!

The traveling party included the three of us, Mom and Dad.  My sister's family and brother backed out last minute.  Cousins Ter, Me-an, Paulo and Tita Amy also came... and it made the trip more fun!

We went to the Divine Mercy shrine.  It was an hour ride from the city and definitely a magnificent sight.

Gives a feel of the Jesus Christ in Sao Paulo.

The Mama Mary that my Mom always encounters.

Everyone trying to capture the grand image of Jesus.

Activities during our vacation included attending the Cagayan de Oro fiesta in our Tito's place where food was abundant... I don't think I ever felt hungry during our stay.  One of our cousins make CDO lechon.  Super yummy!  Stupid me, I failed to take a picture of the sumptuous roasted pig.

The highlight of the long weekend was, of course, the Water Rafting.  The hour and half drive from CDO and the load of tourists during that weekend pushed us to the last trip of the day so we were not able to hear mass as planned.  But the nature surrounding the Cagayan River was so fantastic, I felt so close to God.

Last trip group.

Paddling our hearts out.

It was easy-peasy... not really!

I am glad we pushed through with the trip.  It was the break that we needed.  And reconnecting with our cousins after several decades made it even more special.

Back in Manila and missing CDO.

I Miss You.

Life has been so hectic. I am not complaining though.

It's just that I miss my blog. I have a lot if stories now. I do not know if I would be able to write them all.

Writing this entry using my iPhone. See how desperate I am!
